20 Years of Living-Architecture with willow-sticks.
Based on ideas, visions and fantasies of the year 1984 we experienced and planted the first structures in 1985. In 1988 we developped the technic of willow-bundels adapted from the sumerian reed-constructions in Mesopotamia. Since than we realized a total of over 50 willow-projects in Germany, Sveden, Belgium, Poland, Austria and Switzerland. Living architectures in the interactive social process of realization as well as later by growing in it`s ever changing forms

Auerworldpalast

The Auerworld Palace was built in march/april 1998 with 300 volunteers from all over the world.
The way it was `planted` expresses the potential energies that can be mobilized in a community-oriented
natural building process.
Marcel Kalberer was assisted by constructors and artists of the building-troup Sanfte Strukturen,
who guided the many different volunteers through the construction of the palace.

While the construction was a social event, the Palace itself would soon be used as a center for community
festivities. The full moon events for example arealready legendary and have drawn more
than 80,000 visitors from near and far. Every event has its own character due to
changing cultural activities and light installations.
As the first Living Willow Palace it became a very welcome and necessary
tourist attraction in the sleepy countryside between Weimar and Naumburg.
